The IndyCar series is suffering from another long delay between races. Not only is the series out of the public consciousness on the DirecTV-less Versus network, they are suffering from these huge gaps in the schedule during NFL football season. Keep in mind though that the IRL, when putting together this years schedule was lobbying hard to keep Surfer’s Paradise on the schedule and team it with the flyaway race in Japan. But even with the setbacks, there are some signs of possible momentum on the near horizon. We will…

F1 – Alonso Announcement Thursday
Reports are coming out of the Spanish media that Fernando Alonso will be announced at Ferrari on Thursday. Reportedly, Alonso will make 25 million euros per year for the next 5 years, with an additional option on a 6th year. We have been hearing rumors of this deal for the last several seasons, but it was supposedly debunked when Ferrari resigned Kimi and Felipe through the 2010 season. But then we started hearing rumors earlier this season that Ferrari was attempting to buy out Kimi’s 2010 contract. At this point,…

Le Mans – Petit Red Flag Wrap-up
This weekend’s Petit Le Mans was to be the best race of the year for endurance racing aside from the 24 Hour event itself. The 1,000 mile/10 hour event would highlight the best teams from all over the world at Road Atlanta, but Mother Nature had other ideas. After about 4 hours of racing the heavens opened up and cut loose. Torrential rains saw the event cancelled at about the half way point with Peugeot taking a 1-2. However, don’t be fooled. The Peugeot was clearly not the best car…

It has been known for what seems like eternity that Bernie Ecclestone is a very outspoken man. One to never let an opportunity in front of a microphone go, Bernie has now heaped scorn at the Peter Windsor/Ken Anderson USF1 entry claiming that he does not believe the team will be ready for 2010. The new Charlotte based team has worked methodically and round the clock to ensure their entry would hit the grid by 2010 and have done it all right in my opinion. They have their own chassis…

The final round of the WRC has taken a turn as it was recently announced that Petter Solberg will race for the Citroen Junior squad in Great Britain. This move by Citroen could have a serious impact on the championship and something that will surly put Ford on the defense. While Solberg will be racing a C4 that he has leased in Spain with his own team colors, he has reached an agreement with the French squad for Rally GB that will see him fighting for victory in the season…

Read MoreALMS – Corvette Denied Direct Injection
In a rather surprising and disappointing fashion, the new GT2 Corvettes will not be running the same engine they used at Mid-Ohio, Road America, and Mosport. The Porsche and Ferrari teams have successfully argued to the ACO that the Corvette’s direct-injection engine gave them an unfair advantage and it should be prohibited. In spite of having a written statement from the ACO proclaiming the 6.0L DI power-plant to be permissible, the new GT2 ‘Vettes will have to run the Petit LeMans sans DI. This won’t likely affect their power output…
