IndyCar – Double the Races, Double the Fun?

Thanks to a combination of real life and inherent slacker tendencies interfering with writing about racing, I’ve neglected my personal musings about the sport I love.  For my three fans, I apologize and will strive to feed you more of my BS more often. For my anti-fans, I apologize, as you’ll likely be seeing more of my BS. So let’s talk about the past two IndyCar races at Pocono and Iowa and look at the upcoming Toronto race! With the compact schedule for the Verizon IndyCar Series, the races come…

Indycar-The Fight in Fontana

Will Power. Ryan Hunter-Reay. Helio Castroneves. Scott Dixon. These are the drivers that still (theoretically) have a shot at winning the Astor Cup as IZOD Indycar Series Champion at the World Championship to be held in Fontana, California on September 15. So now we get to add Barber Motorsports Park to the IndyCar Road Course quiver, and while it did not…

May has culminated in the conclusion of the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500 and Roger Penske can now change his license plate from “1 INDY 14” to “1 INDY 15”. Helio Castroneves climbed the fence and drank the milk as he and his team took home the top honors and a record paycheck of $3,048,005 as Helio chalked up his third victory at the famed Indianapolis oval. Helio has been embattled since the close of last season as Federal tax evasion charges had been filed against him and he…

IndyCar – Helio on Pole for Indy 500

The weather today was certainly changeable. Winds varied from strong to non-existent. The sun kept peeking through the clouds and the relative humidity was all over the place. All of which made car setup a nightmare today for the drivers and engineers. Due to the strange weather conditions, many potential first day qualifiers opted to forgo their pill draw position in favor of waiting for better conditions. But as the day wore on, ideal qualifying conditions did not become readily apparent. Helio Castroneves ended up making his pole run in…
