IndyCar – Augusta of Racing and the Beauty of Road Courses

In the past, I have made no secret that I prefer a good road course to street course racing. Despite a rocky start, the Timing and Scoring on IndyCar.com finally came online, although the video was more of a slideshow than smooth video. Here’s hoping that the online coverage improves over the season. The ontrack action, however was pretty dicey. Ryan Hunter-Reay narrowly avoided being hit by Duno, Viso, and apparently just about everyone else on the grid. IndyCar – Conway Home from Hospital

Mike Conway wadded up his #24 Dreyer and Reinbold entry Sunday morning during practice as he prepared for day 2 of qualifying for the Indy 500. The wreck was serious enough that he was transported to Methodist Hospital where he was diagnosed with a minor concussion and a bruised lung. Conway was released today and will be evaluated on Friday by IndyCar series staff for his potential return to action in time for Day 3 of qualifying on Saturday.
