F1 – Force India to Launch 1st of February 2013

Force India has announced they will launch their 2013 challenger on the 1st of February. The Indian team is the first to make such an announcement. Paul di Resta is thought to be the primary driver for 2013. However, the team has not officially confirmed its lineup with one seat still available. Caterham Launch Caterham is the only team so far to unveil their 2012 challenger. Up to this point, we have not heard anything from Force India as to the date they will have their public car launch, even though we have known for quite some time that they will be hitting the track at Jerez for the first time on February 10th.  According to a team spokesman, the VJM03 will also be unveiled to the public on the same day. Torro Rosso and Red Bull have both announced that their car launch will be held on track. STR will start testing on February 1st in Valencia at the Ricardo Tomo Circuit with the majority of the other teams. McLaren has announced that they will launch their MP4-25 on January 29th.  No location has been given for their launch at this time, however McLaren is least likely to have a low-key shindig. And why should they. With two British world champions on the team, they have much to trumpet. Ferrari has announced that they will be unveiling their 2010 challenger, the ‘281’ on January 28th at Maranello. It will then take its first laps at the Ricardo Tomo Circuit on February 1st, along with the majority of the 2010 grid. Also reported this week is that Red Bull will not have their RB6 ready on time to attend the first open test in Valencia, but will instead wait an additional week and run their first test at Jerez the following week.
