By now you have probably listened to my podcast with Chris Leone right? Okay, well if you haven’t, check out Open Paddock Episode #248 for a preview of what has happened until now in the Red Bull GRC season and what we can expect for the last 4 rounds of the championship. If you’ve already been watching all the events so far, then good on you and here’s the track map. I’m liking this track already. The sweeping turn 1 should naturally narrow the field and hopefully prevent red flag…

The breaking news that really kind of isn’t. Red Bull GRC officially announced today that DirtFish Rally School will be the host of the penultimate round of the championship this coming September 26th and 27th. In all honesty, I can’t think of anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest to showcase GRC. I was there back in 2011 and it was quite honestly the best venue they’ve ever had for Rallycross in the USA, ever. The reason I say this isn’t breaking news is simply because of DirtFish Rally School’s involvement…

By now most everyone already knows the results from last weekend’s GRC season opener in Barbados, and I won’t be getting into the results too much. What I really wanted to focus on are the changes with the newly re-branded Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship as well as some of the more significant moments. Here’s a run-down of what I observed (at least virtually since I wasn’t physically there and they didn’t have any live video streaming). 1. Improved Track Design As many of you know, I’ve been very…

Royal Purple Synthetic Oil has been on a tear with partnerships lately. First was the announcement at the Red Bull Global Rallycross Media Day that Royal Purple was renewing their partnership with the Red Bull GRC series and sponsoring an Olsbergs MSE Ford Fiesta GRC Supercar that will be driven by Steve Arpin. Then last week Royal Purple announced a partnership with Subaru Rally Team USA. The especially interesting point here is that Royal Purple is not just backing the SRT USA Global Rallycross Team, but also their Rally…
