Ferrari has lost its legal battle in France today that would see a block on the 2010 rules regarding a budget cap. The back of the grid was formed today for this years Indianapolis 500 and topping the time sheet was Newman Haas Lanigan’s Robert Doornbos. After a disasterous first weekend of qualifications, the second NHL car put up a speed of 221.692. The Oregon Trail Rally has lived up to the excitement generated by the first three rounds of the championship. Teams traded the lead on day 1 and day 2 has shown one driver pull out a large lead. Barber Motorsports park has released attendance figures for their first day of open testing with the Indy Lights in their ongoing campaign for inclusion on the 2010 IndyCar calendar.  7,600 people showed up to watch the IndyLights test on Saturday. 7,600!  That’s about as many people that attended last season’s opener at Homestead….  (OK at least it looked like 7,600 at Homestead) Sunday will kick off IndyCar series testing which will last through the end of the day on Monday.  Attendance on Sunday is expected to top 10,000.
