Rally – Rally GB Saved…For This Year
In a story revealed by the folks at Autosport, the Rally of Great Britain has been saved this year after a funding boost from the MSA which happens to be the British motorsport governing body. The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) and the MSA are currently engaged in a battle over the rally after the Welsh decided to drop the event from its funding list. The battle had taken its roots in 2007 when an agreement was signed that saw funding from WAG last for five years. However, the FIA has…

Le Mans – Audi Make Practice Statement
Day 1 of practice for the 24 Hours of Le Mans is in the books and rain covered the race course for most of the day. Audi’s #1 car piloted by Capello/Kristensen/McNish took top honors with a time of 3:30.07. The North American Audi team put their R15 a mere 0.054 off the top spot. Following Audi was Peugeot and their 908 HDi Coupe. The French team put the cars 3/5/9th on the time sheet. The Pescarolo team ran 4th in their Peugeot as well. The day seen a number…

With a mere three days before the Le Mans we are a little hard pressed to find any great stories to build up one of the greatest races on the planet. However, we were able to get an entry list and as usual, Audi are the clear favorites and there are a load of other LMP1 cars that have a chance to spoil Aston Martin. Aston will be looking to finish the race and hold off the likes of the Oreca team. As stories make themselves available we will report…
Read MoreRally – STPR Review and Thoughts
So the very brief STPR has concluded and if I have learned anything…it is that I will not be picking lottery numbers anytime soon. Ken Block has taken victory for the second time this year in impressive fashion and the points battle has become even closer. The rally was fast and furious and Block set the early tempo. My favorite for the race and P-WRC driver Patrik Sandell fell out of the event after the first stage! While the reason is not 100%, the team did blame an engine failure…

The IndyCars under the lights at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX always look spectacular, and this year was no exception. The weather was excellent and so was the crowd. Attendance at this week’s event was strong, something that the series desperately needed for a 1.5-mile oval after the anemic showing at Kansas. As usual this year, the start’s and the restarts were fantastic with lots of jockeying for position all through the grid. After a few laps, however, the ability for drivers to pass lapped traffic, let…
Read MoreF1 – Teams Fail to Agree Again
The situation in Monaco is such that you would swear up and down there is no race this weekend. The news and events unfolding on the political side are very fluid and the situation has begun to fall apart. The teams have met with the FIA in an attempt to agree on the 2010 regulations and rules and for the second straight time, they have come up short of meeting in the middle. In a statement made earlier by Ferrari President Luca Di Montezemolo, it was understood that heading into…
Read MoreRally – Italy Day 1
Day 1 in Italy has come to a close and as usual there were heavy tactics in play amongst the front runners. Jari Mati-Latvala has opened a 40 second lead over teammate Mikko Hirvonen and has 42 seconds over Sebastian Loeb who is currently 3rd. Loeb stopped a full 10 seconds right before the finish line in an attempt to get further behind Hirvonen so that the Fords may plow the tough gravel on Day 2. Hirvonen attempted to slow down enough to keep it close and was unable to…
