Well it’s official and expected.  David Higgins and Craig Drew of Subaru Rally Team USA win the New England Forest Rally, and with that the overall 2014 Rally America National Championship.  This is their 4th consecutive Rally America title and there are still two events remaining to run. The breaking news that really kind of isn’t.  Red Bull GRC officially announced today that DirtFish Rally School will be the host of the penultimate round of the championship this coming September 26th and 27th.  In all honesty, I can’t think of anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest to showcase GRC.  I was there back in 2011 and it was quite honestly the best venue they’ve ever had for Rallycross in the USA, ever.  The reason I say this isn’t breaking news is simply because of DirtFish Rally School’s involvement…

Red Bull GRC Skips Detroit & Converts LA to a Double Header

The Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship announced today that they will not be in Detroit in August and instead will be doubling up their LA round in September to make sure the championship still has 10 rounds.  An interesting turn of events and I’m curious to dig into what caused the Detroit fallout.  Ford would have wanted to make a showing in their home town, but then again it is Detroit so maybe it was bound to fail anyway?  Official Press Release is below.            …
