Bernie may have been right about one team not making the grid. Campos F1 is apparently on the brink of a total collapse and may be willing to release Bruno Senna from his previously signed contract.
Senna, nephew of F1 legend Ayrton Senna, has been signed with Campos every since this summer. However, financial issues are beginning to catch up with the team and there is talk of releasing the Brazilian in favor of two pay-to-drive pilots. With that being said, the rumor further has Bruno going to STR in place of young Jamie Alguersuari. This is supported by the fact that Scuderia Torro Rosso has yet to sign a second driver to side with Sebastian Buemi. Recent news on Bruno’s website shows him being fitted in a Dallara chassis and having seat measurements taken, but the money just may not be there for the ride. While this is just rumor for the moment, it is thought that STR has the rights to young Senna in the event that Campos falls through. Time will tell as the real scramble for drivers may start to heat up with car launches coming soon.
