Le Mans – Strakka is Acura Powered

Acura 2While the Acura LMP2 program may be dead here in America, it has found new life in Europe as Strakka Racing has become the first team to acquire the car outside of the US.

The car seen great sucess under the Fernadez Racing team as it took the LMP2 championship against the Dysin Mazdas. The car was shown to have some weak spots in development towards the middle of the season but put on a great show for the season finale at Laguna Seca.

The car made a testing debut in Europe with David Brabham assisting the team in determining its choice. HPD has acknowledged the move and is very excited to track the cars progress against the Le Mans series competition. The ARX-01c is very developed and has the best chance at European success after the LMP1 car proved that it had nothing for the top runners Audi and Peugeot.

Strakka ran a Ginetta-Zytek in 2009 and suprised the Le Mans series with a convincing pole position at the season opener in Catalunya. I am very interested to see how this car stands up against the competition in Europe and perhaps this will aid the Patron Highcroft Acura in data as they could potentially run Le Mans if the signs are good.
