Hunter-Reay to Drive for Vision Racing

ryan-hunter-reayRobin Miller and Speetv.com are currently reporting that 27 year old American Ryan Hunter-Reay will be signed to Vision Racing later this week. The young talent has recently signed a mega deal with IZOD to promote the young driver. When explaining the deal, Hunter-Reay had this to say: ” It all happened yesterday and we’re still getting the contract squared away but the team is scrambling to put my car together and thankfully I’m going to be racing Indy cars this year.” Reay lost his ride with Rahal Letterman after the team lost Ethanol as its title sponsor and the 2008 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year has been frantically searching for a ride every since. The deal reportedly had heavy influence from Tony George. The IRL has been trying to work a number of B to B deals. Especially with the series still being fragile with the current economic crisis, numerous deals to retain as many cars and drivers as possible have taken place in the offseason.

We here at Openpaddock.net congratulate Hunter-Reay in recieving the ride. Since we here at the site are large IndyCar fans, we like to see news that reports good drivers getting rides and preserving the series through all of these difficult times. Stay tuned into openpaddock.net as we will continue to update the situation as it unfolds.
