IndyCar – Fast Friday Recap

Here are your practice times for fast Friday. Amazingly, the track stayed mostly dry today except for the occasional yellow for moisture in turn X. And while the track was green, a whole slew of faces made their way to the top of the timesheets for today. Helio, Tagliani and Power all put in 226+ times, while Townsend Bell and Graham Rahall mixed up the status quo by placing 10th and 11th respectively. Expect the morning practice session to be terminated, and it’s not likely that the afternoon session will be a go, either. The storms should move out in time for qualifications, but with no practice time, drivers new and inexperienced with oval racing will be seriously disadvantaged. In fact,…

IndyCar – Sao Paulo Wrap Up

The IZOD IndyCar Series opened their season this weekend on the brand spanking new Sao Paulo street circuit. Despite the short amount of time that Tony Cottman and his team had to bring this track from napkin sketch to sold out event, the race weekend looked to be a very successful coup in the heart of Brazilian racing madness. Granted though, there were a few hitches in this weekend’s giddyup. The first major problem of the event occurred during practice sessions when the IndyCar drivers discovered that the Brazilian National…
