Today was the Zach Veach show at the Auto Club Speedway on the final day of the Formula Car Challenge Presented by Goodyear Winter Series. For the first race of the day, the National Race, he had secured pole position following yesterday’s rain-soaked qualifying session, but he would have to start at the back of the grid for the final Regional Race as result of his DNF. Andretti Autosport’s Star Mazda driver, Zach Veach, came to the Auto Club Speedway for the final three rounds of the Formula Car Challenge Presented by Goodyear Winter Series with an 11-point lead having won the first two rounds held at Infineon Raceway from pole position. Team Pelfrey had an outstanding inaugural season in the 2011 Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear with Connor De Phillippi and Nick Andries who finished 2nd and 3rd in the season championship, respectively. Star Mazda – 2012 Schedule Annouced

The Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear announced their 2012 Race Schedule this morning. Well, most of it anyway. The a June event and the final event in October are still TBA, but we have the rest of the ten-event schedule. One big difference from last season is that many of the weekends will involve double-header races. So although there are only ten race weekends, there will be between 16-18 actual races.
