Rally – WRC Highlight Shows on YouTube

The WRC has done the best thing ever to help assuage the off-season blues. All of their highlight shows from the 2001 through 2008 seasons are live on their YouTube Shows page. This is brilliant, and hopefully a trend that will get picked up by other racing series. I’m lookin’ at you IZOD IndyCar Series! I would also say I was lookin’ at F1, but lets be realistic, Bernie is too much of a troll to allow people to watch old seasons of his circus for free. Here’s the announcement…

IndyCar – Olá!, Brasil!

Well, its finally official. The IZOD IndyCar Series will in fact open the 2010 season in Brazil, but not in Rio as many originally thought, but in São Paulo. With strong support from our major partner Apex-Brasil, a significant television package from TV…

The first weekend for the series north of the border wouldn’t turn out great for either contender, but especially not for Peter. He and his team missed…

That’s right! The Australian V8 Supercars Championship Series is returning to the US airwaves beginning next season following a three-year deal with Speed TV. …yeah, that’s the bummer part of it. NASCAR should take note, the Aussies do stock car racing properly and with MODERN fuel-injected V8s, a proper racing engine! Here’s an excerpt from their press release: V8 Supercars Australia Executive Chairman, Tony Cochrane, said the deal was…

Movember – Help Fight Men’s Cancer

Shaun and I have joined up with John’s Movember team over at Last Ditch Racing to help change the face of men’s health. This month of Movember, we have been farming our mustaches in an attempt to grow gnarly facial hair and in the process, raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation which research men’s cancers. For those not in the know, “Mo” is Australian slang for mustache. What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer…

OP-Ed – Support Your Local Tracks

As fans of IndyCar racing, Formula 1, MotoGP, WRC, we constantly hear about these fantastic venues. Who doesn’t want to go to Indianapolis to see the IndyCars, or to Spa to see Formula 1, or to Phillip Island to see the MotoGP race, or to Cyprus to the WRC? Many of us live cheap and save up over the off-season, giving $5 McDonald’s gift certificates as Christmas presents just so we can afford those big trips to those exotic venues. While doing this, though, we often overlook the true gems…
