René Rast: “Le Mans has always been one of my dreams” 

A 27-year-old René Rast will make its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The German driver has long excelled in Porsche Carrera Cup, winning the German series in 2008 and 2012, while sacred three times consecutively Supercup, from 2010 to 2012. That same year, he won the 24 Hours of Spa and the GT class of the 24 Hours of Daytona. In 2013, he won two victories in FIA GT Series and two more in the ADAC GT Masters. “Le Mans has always been one of my dreams. This is the biggest endurance race and the largest in the world, “he says.” It’s a pleasure and an honor to drive for a team such as Sébastien Loeb Racing. An ORECA 03 and Audi R8 LMS ultra European Le Mans Series! 

The “endurance” program Sébastien Loeb Racing will focus on this first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In addition to preparing for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we have the opportunity to fight for the overall victory and our partners are mainly European. The championship has also shown interesting last year, with great battles on the track. “This decision is all the more sense it allows us to align the Audi R8 LMS ultra for a second program parallel to the France GT Championship. With this car, we will be present on a “sprint” and another rather typical “endurance” series. It is interesting for the technical team, who will be able to complete its scope, but also for our partners. And we know that the Audi R8 LMS ultra is efficient in all these styles of competition! After the official tests 1 & 2 April, the European Le Mans Series will start at Silverstone (18-19 April). Follow four rounds: Imola (May 17-18), Red Bull Ring (July 19-20), Paul Ricard (13-14 September) and Estoril (18-19 October).
