The M-Sport Stobart team had a weekend to remember in Sweden with Mads Ostberg giving the team their best ever result of 2nd. The team also led a rally for the first time ever. So what is the next logical step? Go even bigger in Mexico!
The team is set to run with four M-Sport Stobart powered Ford Fiestas. Mads Ostberg and Henning Solberg are the nominated points drivers for the first gravel test of the year. Joining them in a non points capacity will be Matthew Wilson and Evgeny Novikov. This puts the team in a very good position in terms of points, and could put together good finishes for the other two non-points scoring cars.
Novikiov is starting his 2011 campaign slightly premature to what it was originally supposed to be. The Russian was slated to start at Rally Portugal but has bumped up the start time to run the high altitude Mexican stages.
2011 is looking to be a fantastic season for the M-Sport Stobart team as the talent on the roster is very sollid and capable of putting together solid finishes with a dash of an amazing result or two.
