Road to Indy – Veach Returns to USF2000 for Andretti

While I can’t say that it comes as a surprise, it is good to hear the official confirmation. Zach Veach, the young Ohioan who joined the team at the last minute last year after the Atlantics Championship dissolved, has resigned with Andretti Autosport for 2011 to run in the US F2000 National Championship with sponsorship from Zakosi Data Backup.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with this great team and be a part of the ‘Road To Indy’ program again next year. I can’t describe what an honor it is to be calling Andretti Autosport home again in 2011. The team did a outstanding job in USF2000 this past year and it was a great learning platform for me. I plan to maximize what I’ve gained from 2010 during the Winter Fest, and hopefully carry that momentum into the 2011 season. I want to thank Michael Andretti for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime again.” — Zach Veach via team press release.

We’re very happy to hear the news that Zach Veach will be back in the car, and that Penske hasn’t stolen ALL of Andretti Autosport’s sponsors. We certainly wish Zach good luck in the 2011 season both on the track and in his continued efforts to educate young (and older) drivers on the dangers of texting/tweeting and driving. You can learn more about Zach and his work with Oprah’s “No Phone Zone” and FocusDriven at his website, www.zachveach.com.
