With both championships decided this past weekend in France, we now begin to shift our focus to the 2011 season. The whole face of the WRC is set to change with the launch of the 2011 S2000T cars that occured late last week. I was not able to post the launch videos last week, so here are the launch videos for the Ford Fiesta RS WRC, Citroen DS3, and MINI Countryman WRC. These cars are based on a S2000 chassis and will run a 1.6 litre turbo charged engine. You may remember this engine from the “world engine” program Max Mosley had released before his time in office ended. So take a look at your 2011 challengers. Special note should be given to the MINI as it is not a challenger for any championship given it will start the season a bit late. This is not an uncharacteristic thing in the world of rally as it may seem in other motorsport realms.
So there you have it! The 2011 WRC challengers in all of their glory. Just from what we have seen this year and the radical differences to come next year, 2011 is shaping up to be one hell of a year!
