The United States Grand Prix is set for yet another return as the traveling circus trades in their glitz in glamour for cowboy hats. The event was announced to day by Formula 1 and will be held in Austin Texas from 2012 to 2021.
The race is slated to be held on a new fixed circuit that will be purpose built for the event. This is the first time since 1980 that the race will be held on a purpose built, fixed road course and the first time ever a site in the US will be built FOR F1.
This deal seemingly comes out of nowhere as the event had been linked to New York, New Jersey, Las Vegas, and a return to Indianapolis. The specific location of the circuit is yet to be determined as well as a date. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available!

you said it…not me…but i somewhat have to agree. Knowing Bernie the race will be held on like the first week of August, attendance will drop and he will call it off saying the US hates F1. I think I have seen this somewhere.
I will say this….as far as the US trying to get the attention of F1 with this choice and USF1, this is just turning out to be pathetic. Beggars can’t be choosers…so I think I will opt to starve to death.
It’s de je vu all over again. Um… Donnington?
