It would appear that Red Bull is no longer the only kid on the energy drink block as Monster has announced a deal that will see them sponsor Mercedes GP. Monster has global reach in terms of motorsport and sponsors the likes of Ken Block, Ricky Carmichael, and scores of other motorcross drivers. It only makes sense that the drink company would now make their presence known in the realm of F1 to further that global success. Below is the brief press release on the deal:
On the day of the first race of the highly-anticipated 2010 Formula One season, the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS team is pleased to confirm a new partnership with the energy drinks brand, Monster Energy.
As an integral part of Monster’s ongoing global push, the distinctive Monster Energy logo will feature on the helmets of the team’s drivers, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher, and on their silver racesuits from the first race of the season, the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday 14 March.
Good sponsorship for the team and an impressive driver line-up for Monster on all levels of their motorsport effort.
