We have updated Lotus launch details and news that Torro Rosso is going to make it on track before big brother RBR.
Lotus has updated their launch date from February 5th to February 12th. February 5th is the date that they plan to fire up the mighty Cosworth power plant for testing in house.
Also, Torro Rosso has surprised everybody by announcing that they will be on track February 1st for the test at Valencia. They have not announced an official launch date for the car yet, but they may just roll it out on track on February 1st with no official media unveiling. Note that Red Bull Racing will not be on track until February 10th. Way to go little brother!
It is very interesting to see all these teams struggling mightily to get their car available for February 1st. There is such a premium on testing in the off season and only limited time allowed on track. Each team wants to maximize their window of opportunity to develop their cars during testing by having their car available as early as possible to start the process.
Still no word on Force India and Campos. Further, we are waiting to hear more details on the USF1 launch date.
