IndyCar – Meira Situation Update

Vitor Meira suffered a massive accident in the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500 and has been transported to Methodist Hospital. Track officials did say that Meira was alert and moving all extremities after the huge head on impact at 220 mph. He was carried off the track on a stretcher but was complaining of lower back pains. Rapheal Matos was the second car involved and suffered a bruised knee. He was able to walk off the track but needed track officials assistance. We will keep the situation updated as…

Day 1 in Italy has come to a close and as usual there were heavy tactics in play amongst the front runners. Jari Mati-Latvala has opened a 40 second lead over teammate Mikko Hirvonen and has 42 seconds over Sebastian Loeb who is currently 3rd.
