Vitor Meira suffered a massive accident in the 93rd running of the Indianapolis 500 and has been transported to Methodist Hospital. Track officials did say that Meira was alert and moving all extremities after the huge head on impact at 220 mph. He was carried off the track on a stretcher but was complaining of lower back pains.
