IndyCar – Toronto Review

The IndyCar series travelled into Canada this weekend for a street race that had a lot to live up to after a great weekend at Watkins Glen. Needless to say they had no problem duplicating a brilliant show with possibly the best race so far this year. This race had great passing, strategy, and plenty of controversy to go around. The start of the race was great and Will Power instantly suffered as we seen contact before the green flag that almost sent him a lap down. The race then…

F1 – Loeb Looking for Bourdais’s Seat

Sebastian Loeb has put his name on the table for the Scuderia Torro Rosso drive should Sebastian Bourdais be sacked. The Frenchman has notified the team he is ready to make the switch and run both WRC and Formula 1 until his commitments with the Citroen team have concluded. It was highly unlikely that he will get a seat in time for the Hungarian GP, but if you remember, last winter Loeb ran a Red Bull Racing F1 car and impressed the team with his ability. Loeb has stated he…

F1 – German Grand Prix Preview

This weekend for what seems the 8th time, we are hearing more about the constant political fighting than we are the race. So I am going to take this time to have a German Grand Prix preview that will hopefully take your mind off of among other things Hitler, Max, Bernie, and breakaway series. This weekend brings us to Nurburgring for yet another German Grand Prix, a legacy event on the Formula 1 World Championship calendar. The Friday practice sessions are in the books and Lewis Hamilton proved to be quickest…

The entry list for the race includes the usual suspects plus a few extra faces. Alex Tagliani and Paul Tracy will be making appearances in an attempt to attract the interest of the Canadian audience. They will be driving for Conquest and KV Racing respectively. Both…

F1 – Back to the Brink

It is all very silly now. We thought we had seen the conclusion of the FOTA/FIA war, but it would appear that Max Mosley still thinks he has a point to prove. At a planned meeting today between the FIA and the 13 teams that are entered for the 2010 championship, the 8 FOTA teams walked out of the proceedings. Max Mosley promptly issued a press release deriding the teams. “The eight FOTA teams were invited to attend the meeting to discuss their further proposals for 2010. Unfortunately no discussion…

Rally – Solberg to Drive a C4?

With Rally Finland still some time off, former WRC champion has been offered a chance to pilot a Citroen C4 that is set up with 2008 specifications. This car would be nearly identical to those used by the Citroen Junior’s team but issues have come to light. At this moment, the ride would be rented for Finland and the price is a little stiff for the Norweigian to pay. While he has recieved sponsorship from Shell, it is really only enough to keep him around for this year and next…

Indycar – Camping @ the Glen

The IndyCar series traveled to upstate New York for their fourth of July celebrations as the Camping World Grand Prix brought the American open wheel cars back to the road course. Watkins Glen is a beautiful track that has hosted Formula 1 races and more recently, it has been one of two road racing fixtures in the Nascar series. The obvious racing headline going into the event was the domination of Penske and Ganassi throughout this year. Ganassi had the momentum after a strong showing at Iowa and Penske was looking…
