Seems to be a bad day for Hondas at Pocono. The cars of Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti, Pippa Mann, and Justin Wilson will all have to drop ten spots due to engine changes. Also E.J. Viso and Alex Tagliani also will have to drop to the back of the field due to engine changes. Both drivers crashed during qualifying yesterday. Tagliani is also a Honda, but his change is most likely due to his crash.
Also, Jeff Gordon is in the house–AS A FAN!!! Jeff is here with his young son, taking him to his first IndyCar race. When asked, Jeff Gordon said his wife saw ads on local (NYC market) TV for the IndyCar 400 and asked if he wanted to go. Jeff Gordon said he can not recall the last time he saw IndyCar in person.
He said he can’t wait to see cars running at over 220 MPH, “I just can’t fathom cars going that fast here” the NASCAR legend told media members who ran into him. He was very excited smiling from ear to ear to be here. His son was getting anxious and wanted to go see the IndyCars in person. Gordon is a 6 time NASCAR winner at Pocono.
