Breaking News – Aussies Return to Oregon Trail

Once again the Oregon Trail Rally gets the opportunity to host some of our friends from down under.    Just announced this evening WRC Academy driver  Brendan Reeves along with his co-driver sister Rhianon Smyth will get reunited with an R2 Ford Fiesta like the drove in the Academy.  This time the young Australians will get to drive a Fiesta R2 courtesy of Team O’Neal, one of two top level rally schools in America.

Back home Brendan and Rhianon have been competing in the ECB Australian Rally Championship in a RallySchool.com.au Mazda2.  So their skills will be sharp, but will they be up to the challenge of the car breaker stages of the Oregon Trail Rally?  I can’t wait to see them on the stages and find out!

Last year Will Orders and his teammate Ross Allan, made their debut in Rally America at the Oregon Trail Rally.  They brought over with them their 400 horsepower fire breathing Nissan Silvias, which were the only cars able to catch multiple 2wd Rally America champion Chris Duplessis.

It seems that Oregon Trail has become the jump off point for many international drivers coming to America.  In addition to Reeves, Oregon gets the introduction 8 time Indonesian driver Rifat Sungkar who will be competing in an open class Mitsubishi Evo X. Rifat plans to compete the rest of the Rally America season.  May 4th can’t come fast enough!
