Episode 161 – OpenPaddock.net Podcast

This week on the OpenPaddock.net Podcast, Shaun and Doug welcome special guest Sage Karam, driver of the #88 Comfort Revolution Star Mazda car for Andretti Autosport this past season. He speaks to us about how he became connected with the Andretti’s, how his 2012 season went, and his recent testing of a Firestone Indy Lights car. Sage also talks about how important it is for him to lead a normal teenage life in a public school in spite of his full-time racing career.

Doug gives us a rundown of the Mazda Road to Indy news and driver signings, and he and Shaun continue to marvel at the soap opera surrounding Tony George’s efforts to purchase INDYCAR. Shaun recaps Rally Italia and we look forward to the 2013 WRC season, we preview the next Formula 1 race, the Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, and we look at the statements from Jason Saini and others about their first laps around the Circuit of the Americas.

Sit back, grab a tasty beverage, and enjoy! Remember, you can always listen to us live, heckle us from the chat room, and chat with other motorsport fans on ETV Live every Tuesday night at 9:30pm Eastern, http://www.etv-eplay.net/OpenPaddock/.

trying to listen to this episode, but there is bad echo and random music. Also like it loops back and plays the delay at the start does this clear up eventually?

    1. Not sure what the sound engineering issue is. In addition to airing on ETV Live, I’m going to record the show on my local machine. We’ll have clean audio next week, I promise!

Got through most of it the quality didnt really improve the echo seemed much better though. Loved the talk about COTA. If you really want to see this from the drivers position you need to run this on Simraceway. Turn 1 is absolutely nuts Blind corner coming up over the hill. You have to absolute trust in your braking references or you will be in the kitty litter, or even worse the lawn. The Straight is crazy as well.
