TV – Weekend Racing Schedule for Sept. 11 and 12

This weekend is MONZA! The Formula 1 circus hits the superfast Monza circuit and there’s lots of drama as usual, but this time its good drama. Technical drama. Racing drama. There are definitely two schools of thought regarding the clever ducting systems that have arisen this season. To F-Duct or not to F-Duct is the top question in the paddock, and teams used the practice sessions today to make their final assessments. Red Bull are running no duct and a thin slip of a rear wing, while Renault are using a large rear wing and an f-duct to spoil it down the long fast straights. As usual, qualifying is on Saturday morning, and the race on Sunday morning. …bright and early.

The IndyCar series is off to Japan this weekend and will race at Twin Ring Motegi next weekend, and the ALMS are off until the Petit LeMans at the end of this month. Even MotoGP has the weekend off, so its just F1 in terms of top-end series competition. That is except for the WRC which is also in Japan right now, and last I heard Petter Solberg was leading going into Day 2. How about that!? Unfortunately, we here in the States will have to wait for the delayed broadcast on HD Theatre. The Rolex Sports Car Series will be at Miller Motorsports Park, and since there’s darn little else on TV this weekend, my DVR will likely be trained on it this Saturday. …and that’s about it. Some motorcross on Saturday night, and various reruns. Good weekend for yard work. Enjoy Monza with coffee in the morning and the rest of the day is up for grabs.
