IndyCar – Indy 500 Tuesday Practice Results

Rain held off on Tuesday to allow a full day of practice for the IZOD IndyCar Series, in preparation for The Greatest Spectacle In Racing.  But it did have a little bearing on today’s procedures as they didn’t go green until shortly after 1:00 PM EST since the track was drying from earlier rain.

Scott Dixon put up quick time today, which isn’t much of a surprise given his affiliation with one of the big dog teams.  But the results sheet behind him was an appealing surprise and hopefully a continuing trend for the remainder of May as Mario Moraes, Marco Andretti, Alex Taglianai and Dan Wheldon filled in positions 2-5 respectively on the charts.

Mario Moraes had minor wall contact while coming off the warmup lane midway through the session.  It should be pretty easy to get things back together for tomorrow for the KV racing squad.

E.J. Viso also made contact with the turn 1 wall shortly before the end of practice, but unfortunately for him he has been sent to Methodist complaining of back pain.  We will wait to hear more.

Things in the KV garage may get interesting in the next 18 hours as they prepare for tomorrow’s festivities.  There is a chance of rain for tomorrows practice, but it hovers around 30% which is lower than what was predicted for today.

Davey Hamilton made his first appearance on track today, clocking in at 24th with a 222.832.  While Milka Duno holds tenaciously to the very bottom of today’s chart.
