Le Mans – Sharp GT2 Owner

Risi_Ferrari_62Scott Sharp has raced in Trans-Am, IndyCar, and in Le Mans competition. However, yesterday Scott announced his intentions on running a GT2 team in the American Le Mans Series.

The team will be named Extreme Speed and will run the Ferrari 430 according to AUTOSPORT. This will add yet another car to the already full and highly competitive GT2 class. As far as a driver lineup you ask? Scott has already announced that Ed Brown will run in the car next year. Brown has currently been running in the GT3 and the GT Challenge classes. Scott will run this team while still competeing in his LMP Acura for Highcraft Racing.

I personally would like to see some cars spread throughout the field at this point. GT2 is great and awesome to watch, but I am afraid the field may become overly saturated. Hopefully as GT2 or just GT next year, will level off and the merger of the LMP classes will see an increase in that category as well.

  1. So this is an additional Ferrari to Risi’s 430?
