Le Mans – Aston Fields a Third Car

aston-2Aston Martin has announced the final driver lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A third car has been entered and Anthony Davidson, Jos Verstappen, and Stuart Hill have joined the team. There is currently no specific lineups for the three cars have been decided.

Aston Martin has been running two cars already this year in the Le Mans series races. They achieved victory in the season opener and look to win the Le Mans 24 on the 50thanniversary of their maiden win in Le Mans. Anthony Davidson has ran with the Prodrive team in 2003. Davidson just finished a recent test of the LMP1 at Algraveand is ready to return to winning with Dave Richards. The three new drivers are going to join the regulars at Monza as they prepare for this years 24 hour race.

This is a strong lineup for the race as Aston Martin are going to need all the help they can get to take the fight to Peugeot and especially the returning Audi R15. There are a host of other P1 cars that can also overtake the Astons for the big 24. Granted the Prodrive is a new team with the Lola chassis, there are a lot of expectations for the British team and they have taken one step forward in hiring these three great drivers.
