FROM ABU DHABI FORD WORLD RALLY: Ford’s all-new Fiesta RS World Rally Car made a dream debut by powering to a 1-2-3 finish in Rally Sweden today. Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team’s Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen won a thrilling opening round of the FIA World Rally Championship by just 6.5sec from Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson. Rumors out of the Finnish press are indicating that talks between Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull/Citroen are failing. They are also quick to point out that the 2007 Formula 1 champion may be on his way to the Monster World Rally Team as we and some others have speculated. This weekend was the first ever Ken Block Invitational Gymkhana Grid event. This event was headlined by some of the best rally and drifting talent around. Names like Vaughn Gittin Jr., (2010 drifting champ) Tanner Foust, (X-Games, drifting, and rally), Andrew Comrie-Piccard (North American rally), and Daijiro Yoshihara (drift) made up the grid with a host of other big named drivers. Sebastian Loeb has opened Rally Germany with a scorching pace that may see him to yet another victory. The French ace is currently being chased by Citroen #2 Dani Sordo who is 9.5 seconds off the lead.
