IndyCar – IZOD Indycar Series Power Rankings 3 of 16

By: Kevin Neeley 1. Will Power #12 Team Penske Chevrolet All he’s done is overcome starting 9th and 12th to win the last two races. He’s had two Fastest Laps and Fastest Leader Laps. The one race he didn’t win was simply due to being caught out on pit stop sequence. Prior to this season, the criticism of Will was he couldn’t race his way to the front from back in the field. Judging by this year’s performance, that obviously isn’t the case. Will Power IS the Machismo of Indycar.…

IndyCar – Lotus Can Supply for 2012, Compete Though?

The off season was rich with speculation that Lotus may or may not make the 2012 season with its Judd engine. Think back to late December when there was little to no contact between Lotus or really any of the teams that were in the market for an engine. Autosport.com featured an article this morning that indicated Lotus was in fact capable of supplying the teams they had signed for the entire season. That includes bonus parts and support for HVM, Herta, DRR, and Dragon. The recent change in ownership…

INDYCAR – Conway Checks Out of Long Beach

The IZOD IndyCar series headed out west to the city streets of Long Beach this weekend. The Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix is the most prestigous street course race in America and one that every driver has on the checklist of must wins. Ryan Hunter-Reay and Will Power were the odds on favorites after qualifying on the front row, but some late race drama ensured that Mike Conway would take his first career win in the IICS at this historic venue. Instead of giving a lap by lap rendition of…

IndyCar – Paul Tracy Back In The Saddle

Paul Tracy will be back in the #24 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing car at Kentucky and Motegi in replacement of the still convalescing Mike Conway. Tracy had ran at Watkins Glen for DRR earlier this year, and had driven for KV Racing Technologies in the two Canadian races. With as dodgy as the action was at Chicago, this weekend’s race at Kentucky could get extremely interesting with PT in the mix. I say this for a couple of reasons. First, because PT is …well… because he’s PT. Let’s face it,…
