Red Bull GRC – Daytona is Best Track Yet

As we mentioned on the podcast earlier this week, Red Bull GRC’s stop in Daytona has the biggest and most dynamic track to date.  The 0.924 mile circuit features the joker in turn one to split the field and preventing the infamous pile ups that caused red flags in past events.  Additionally this course has long enough straights that the cars are reaching 120MPH!   Qualifying, Heat 1, and Heat 2 are already complete.  What I could best discern from their tweeted commentary, this course is allowing for very close…

Red Bull Global Rallycross Race Recap: Volkswagen Rallycross NY IN BRIEF: Tanner Foust’s miserable luck from the onset of the 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross season appears to be firmly behind him, as his constant speed finally delivered him a victory in Volkswagen Rallycross NY on Sunday. After a penalty to Scott Speed erased a Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross 1-2 finish, Nelson Piquet Jr. stepped up into second place and the points lead, and Ken Block earned his first podium of the year. Red Bull GRC Needs a Win in DC as Much as the Drivers

Today the newly re-branded Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship kicks off it’s first “normal” USA event in Washington D.C., and it is going to be LIVE on NBC.  Not NBC Sports mind you, but the main NBC network (tune in at 2PM Eastern/ 11AM Pacific).  They have promised   So why does Red Bull GRC need a win?  After a successful event in Barbados the series next stop was X-Games Austin that was quite honestly utter crap.  A combination of poor track design, multiple delays from hot headed drivers causing…

IndyCar – IZOD Indycar Series Power Rankings 3 of 16

By: Kevin Neeley 1. Will Power #12 Team Penske Chevrolet All he’s done is overcome starting 9th and 12th to win the last two races. He’s had two Fastest Laps and Fastest Leader Laps. The one race he didn’t win was simply due to being caught out on pit stop sequence. Prior to this season, the criticism of Will was he couldn’t race his way to the front from back in the field. Judging by this year’s performance, that obviously isn’t the case. Will Power IS the Machismo of Indycar.…

Constable’s Corner: 2012 St. Pete picks to watch

Well, we are now just a few days away from the 2012 season opener in St. Petersburg. After a highly publicized pre-season test at Sebring some things are very clear. Most notably, Lotus is light years behind Chevrolet and Honda. While some real fan favorites are with Lotus for 2012; Servia, de Silvestro, Tagliani, Bourdais, and series rookie Katherine Legge—The best time in testing was Servia who was only the 19th fastest out of 27 drivers.   This is the return of Chevrolet to the IndyCar series after many years…

Indy Hump Day Report: On the bubble Spec Engine Racing

Proper attire at Penske Racing requires Bow Ties   Well my predictions for who would be the first teams on the new Chevy party boat was wrong. (in that Ganassi & Dreyer Reinbold were not part of the Friday announcement, yet many agree Chip is still very likely between his NASCAR success with Chevy, and the monkey see, monkey do mentality of  Ganassi/Penske.) When I was a guest the other night on The Inside Line, I addressed the issue of how great this is for American fans. Yes, obviously it is…

There will be an announcement made at the IMS Hall of Fame Museum on Friday at 10am EST welcoming Chevy back into the fold for 2012. Other parts of this rumor have indicated that Chip Ganassi will be…

Welcome to Indy Hump-Day 2010, on the bubble is Edmonton

I would first just like to thank the crew at Open Paddock for brining me on board. This  is one of the best places for Motorsports Consumption of the IZOD IndyCar Series, F1, and Rally. Check the site every Wednesday for my off season Indy Hump-day Reports. Edmonton, is it really gone? You would think the race in Edmonton is dead, heck the series pulled it from the 2011 schedule, and issued an inverted pyramid declaring as much. However why did the event that went viral with Helio’s meltdown fail?…
