USF2000 – AcceleRace Motorsports Returns to the Track

Our friends at AcceleRace Motorsports will be returning to competition on the Streets of St. Petersburg this coming weekend. As if the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda didn’t have a large enough field already, AcceleRace will be adding at least one more car to the grid. It’s uncertain right now just what type of car they will enter. The team does have a Championship class car as well as FC and FE cars. Which they run, I think, will depend upon the driver they sign.…

USF2000 – Scouting Combine Notes: Tuesday

The weather in Florida cooperated this morning (albeit much cooler temp’s) and allowed the rest of the talented field of Karting Champions to finish their practice/orientation laps at the Andersen Karting Facility by mid-morning. The drivers that weren’t able to complete laps on Monday (due to rain) had obviously been watching the other competitors on-track. The skill levels and determination had definitely stepped-up from Monday, and the buzz of competitiveness hung in the air like static electricity. Everyone seemed to have much better starts from pit lane today as sleep…

USF2000 – Jonathan Scarallo Driver Blog from Mid-Ohio

Hey Everybody, So last week I made my USF2000 debut in the National class driving the No. 29 GroupAWheels.com/Vredestein Tires/Race Optics/TreoBenny.com Van Diemen for Accele Race Motorsports. The event itself was a fantastic event from the first day. I could not believe just how many people were there even for Friday, which was only practice. All the fans were very enthusiastic and into every class. The amount of autographs I signed and pictures taken was quite substantial for what we are used to in the support series races. But, that’s…

Mazda Road to Indy Wrapup: 1/29-2/5

There’s not been much in the way of announcements this past week from the Mazda Road to Indy teams and series, but there has been a lot of testing! Winning top prize for “Most Grueling Testing Program” is Juncos Racing which took their four-driver team on a three-week boot camp tour, testing at three very different tracks in three consecutive weeks. Not only does the non-stop testing give the engineers a lot of data and the drivers a lot of seat time, but it also, and more importantly, gives the…
