IMSA – Andy Lally Has a Bad Day

Crazy stuff happens at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.  But I think Andy Lally had the craziest encounter on-track.  I’ll let his tweets tell the story: This broke through the splitter & tub and then into the front of the car.. By the way we are out of the race pic.twitter.com/2b6UpcUdyC — Andy Lally (@AndyLally) January 25, 2015 They named the possum Ballast. HUGE testament to the PWR radiators.. IMSA – Indy Wrap on to Road America

Action Express racing dominated the Grand Prix at the Brickyard this past weekend. Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi took the lead going into the first turn of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and didn’t look back. With the win the two drivers have taken over the points lead heading into next weekends event at Road America. But as dominating of a victory it was I believe the real story coming out of Indy was that of Wayne Taylor racing. The driver combo of Jordan and Rickey Taylor, were virtually…

Perfect! Watching the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen this word came to my mind time and time again. Sure not everything IMSA did was perfect the racing it self was not flawless to say the least. But that is part of what made this race perfect for racing fans in general. Not to mention the fact that after the 6 hours the points races in all for classes are just beginning to heat up. Yes we can have the performance equality conversation between the DP and the LM P2…

IMSA – Old Tech Versus New, Who Has the Edge at Sebring?

As with the elimination of the split in North American open wheel racing, the joining of Grand-Am and ALMS is anything but a smooth merger. The open-wheel racing scene didn’t have the equivalency issues that the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship is facing as the Panoz DP-01 that the Champ Car World Series was using never saw use in the Indy Racing League, now known as the IndyCar Series. Both CCWS and IRL teams were mandated to use the same Dallara chassis, and still are. By contrast TUSCC teams may use…
