Rally, Rally, Everywhere a Rally

Are you bored with the long IndyCar off season already?  Or tired of the lame NASCAR chase which has turned into a demolition derby with cars used as weapons?  Or are you just holding your breath waiting for next week’s WRC finale at Wales Rally GB?  Don’t fret, there is still plenty of racing going on, especially in rally.  Today alone there are not one, not two, but three different rally events taking place here in the USA.

Here in the Pacific Northwest the revival of the Wild West Rally is taking place on some of the same stage roads as the Olympus Rally held earlier this year.  Entrants include the wicked fast Jeff Seehorn in his Super Production Subaru, Dave Clark in his often sideways Merkur XR4Ti, and Garth Ankeny in the classic Saab 96.  Follow Wild West on Facebook and Twitter, with times eventually being published on Rally America.

The chilly damp forests of the Pacific Northwest aren’t to your liking?  How about some desert rallying then?  The Seed9 Rally is also taking place this weekend down in Jean, Nevada.  There should be a pretty good battle at this one between Brent Lee in his Fiesta R2 who has competed at this event many times vs. the always fast Cameron Steely in his Fiesta R1.  You can follow Seed 9 timing and scoring at RallyData.com and they even have a live uSteam channel!  Other updates for Seed 9 via their Facebook page.

Finally there is also the Empire State Performance Rally that this year is on gravel instead of tarmac (sadly).  Plenty of great competition out east including Gary DeMasi in his V8 Rally Ranger truck which is always entertaining to see and to hear.  Follow all the action from ESPR on their Facebook page, Twitter, and timing from NASA Rally Sport.

Have a rally great weekend!
