We at Open Paddock have been calling for Rally America to offer some sort of live coverage for a long, long time. The excitement of an event is easily lost due to time, so interviewing at stage ends when drivers are quite honestly the most emotional after a tough stage is what adds drama and excitement to rallying.
Today Rally America announced it will be working with Jim Beaver of the “Down and Dirty Radio Show” to pull off this new Rally America Radio program. Jim’s Down and Dirty Radio Show has been covering action motorsports including super-cross, Red Bull GRC, desert racing and some stage rallying for the past 3 years. Jim’s not only a great radio personality, but he’s also an experienced trophy truck racer himself, which is fitting considering Parker, Arizona is his home. We are looking forward to seeing/hearing this new “Rally America Radio” program and hoping it will bring the passion of rallying in America to the masses. Below is Rally America’s News Release:
RALLY AMERICA LAUNCHES “RALLY AMERICA RADIO” HOSTED BY JIM BEAVER
Jim Beaver and Rally America Launch “Rally America Radio”
Parker, AZ – Jim Beaver and Rally America are proud to announce that they have joined forces to launch “Rally America Radio.” Rally America Radio will be broadcasting live with Jim Beaver stage-side throughout each of the eight 2015 Rally America National Championship events.
“I’m very excited to be working with Rally America this season,” stated Jim Beaver. “They put on some amazing rallies and the series and drivers are a huge part of the Down & Dirty Radio Show. I’ve driven rally cars, and I have an immense amount of respect for the drivers competing at the national level. Rally is such a challenging motorsport to both compete in and to cover live, but I think fans in North America and around the world will be very excited with the coverage, interviews, and recaps we bring from the stages of the biggest stage rally events in America during 2015 with Rally America Radio.”
Jim Beaver, a widely know professional off-road racer, motorsports commentator and host of the world’s largest action motorsports radio show “The Down & Dirty Radio Show,” will be bringing an extensive network of online partners and outlets used by the Down & Dirty Radio Show to distribute Rally America Radio. In addition to hosting Rally America Radio, Jim Beaver will also work with Rally America in various capacities during each of the events.
“Jim and I have been discussing the opportunity to work together for about a year and I couldn’t be more excited to have it all come together,” said Bill Fogg, Sr., President of Rally America, Inc. “Rally America Radio will deliver scores, news and interviews with Rally competitors, sponsors and fans like no other media method can deliver in a live format at remote Rally locations.”
“After three full seasons of Rally and various media experiments, I think our 2013 season model was our most successful in getting event coverage out to the fans. Rally America is going back to that model along with a few new media product ideas and distribution partners for 2015. We need to get back to delivering current event content, not delayed. The overwhelming feedback we have received is driving this decision.”
Rally America Radio powered by the Down & Dirty Radio Show will make its debut January 30th at Sno*Drift Rally in Atlanta, Michigan, with continuing coverage on day two, January 31st. Tune In times and links will be available at www.rally-america.com and www.DownAndDirtyshow.com as well as their corresponding social media in the coming days.
