Episode 171 – OpenPaddock.net Podcast

New OPWe are happy to have on this week’s show, Dan Andersen. Mr. Andersen talks with us about his journey in motorsports from drag racer, to series owner of USF2000, to team owner and back to running the USF2000 series again. We also talk about how he came to take over the Star Mazda series now renamed the Pro Mazda Championship. In addition to our conversation with Dan, Mr. Shaw gives us the run-down on Dakar and a preview of Monte Carlo, Doug goes over some of the recent driver signings in the Mazda Road to Indy, and Kevin and Mike lead us through the news from IndyCar and Formula One.

We’re also giving away the book, “Performance Thinking: Metal Skills for the Competitive World… and for Life!” by Jacques Dallaire, Ph.D. Tell us what non-motorsports business Dan Andersen owns for your chance to win!

  1. John C. Olsakovsky

Good to know that the Pro Mazda Series is in capable and caring hands.
Bummer that those angry hornets won’t be at Barber this year.

    1. John, don’t forget to let us know what Dan does besides motorsports for a chance at the book!

  2. Dan Andersen’s company does commercial building construction and architectural cabinet construction and installation.
    Good interview.

  3. Great show this week, guys. Especially enjoyed the Dan Anderson interview, as it really gives a great idea as to where the MRTI is headed in the next year or two. All good news there.

If you guys are into rye-based stuff, I may just have to bring a growler of stuff from the brewery that’s about a half mile from my house to Indy this year. They make a Rye Pale Ale…and it is tasty…
