BMW Announce ILMC GTE Contenders

BMW Team Schnitzer will contest the European and China rounds of the ILMC. Drivers for the Team Schnitzer No. 55 BMW M3 GT are Augusto Farfus (BR) and Jörg Müller (DE). ALMS BMW Team RLL driver Dirk Werner (DE) will join them at Le Mans. Lead driver for the second Team Schnitzer (No. 56) BMW M3 GT will be three time world touring car champion Andy Priaulx (GB). 

Priaulx will be reunited with his Sebring winning teammates, Dirk Muller and Joey Hand at Le Mans. Hand, winner at the Rolex 24 at Daytona will have a unique opportunity to score the triple crown of endurance racing if he can win at Le Mans. The Sebring winning group will again team up for the ILMC Petit-Le Mans round at Road Atlanta.

Thanks to the dominating performance by the Rahal Letterman Lanigan squad at Sebring, BMW Motorsport heads to Spa-Francorchamps with a nine point lead in the ILMC Manufacturers Championship and Long Beach with a seven point lead ahead of Corvette and 12 points atop Porsche in ALMS Manufacturer race

The Intercontinental Le Mans Cup consist of races in the Le Mans Series in Europe, the USA, and Asia. In 2010, its first year, there were three races, Silverstone (UK), the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta (USA), and in China. In 2001 the international series consists of seven races; 12 Hours of Sebring, 1000 Km Spa-Francorchamps, 12 Hours of Le Mans, 6 Hours of Imola, 6 Hours of Silverstone, Petite Le Mans and the finale in China.
