PETTER SOLBERG WORLD RALLY TEAM

Rally de Portugal 24 – 27 March 2011

From the dusty gravel roads in Mexico, we have travelled over the Atlantic and to the Algarve coast and Rally Portugal. We are ready for the third event in the 2011 WRC, Rally Portugal. Petter Solberg World Rally Team is already based in the service park just outside the Algarve Stadium in Faro.

This year the event will kick off with a 3,27kms spectator stage in the historic part of Lisbon on Thursday afternoon. Shakedown will be held on Wednesday, from 1430-1830 in Faro.

A total of 75 cars are on the entry list, and they will compete the 17 stages and 385kms. The surface is gravel, and the final stage of the rally, SS17, will be the Power Stage. SS17 is 31,04kms and will be broadcasted live on TV.

Petter Solberg is aiming for a podium in Portugal. – I really enjoy the stages in Portugal, says Petter Solberg. – They are fast and technical which suits me well. We have just completed one test day in Portugal and now got a lot of data that will help us decide for the best set up for this rally. We learned in Mexico that we have the speed, so I’m confident about a good result in Portugal.

Petter Solberg ended 5th in the overall classification here in 2010. Sebastien Ogier and Citroën won the event.
