Rally – WRC Highlight Shows on YouTube

The WRC has done the best thing ever to help assuage the off-season blues. All of their highlight shows from the 2001 through 2008 seasons are live on their YouTube Shows page. This is brilliant, and hopefully a trend that will get picked up by other racing series. I’m lookin’ at you IZOD IndyCar Series! I would also say I was lookin’ at F1, but lets be realistic, Bernie is too much of a troll to allow people to watch old seasons of his circus for free. Here’s the announcement article from the WRC website:

World Rally Championship Show goes live on YouTube

Fans of the FIA World Rally Championship will soon be able to watch full-length highlights from every rally from the 2001 to 2008 seasons FREE OF CHARGE thanks to a groundbreaking new ‘Show’ on YouTube.
The World Rally Championship Show, which went live this week, is part of a brand new section on the video-sharing site focused on complete programmes rather than clips.

In a matter of weeks, the WRC Show will feature all of the three, 25-minute end-of-day highlight programmes made for each rally between 2001 and 2008. That’s 75-minutes of FREE coverage per event.

From Tuesday this week, the World Rally Championship Show started to take shape, with programmes uploaded to the WRC archive in date order from 2001.

Follow this link to browse the World Rally Championship Show selection, or head to YouTube’s Official WRC Channel for hundreds more clips.

To whet your appetite, enjoy Day 3 of the 2001 Safari Rally in Kenya. Truly one of the most brutal rallies the WRC has run. You know its a tough rally when some of the greatest names in recent rally history didn’t make it to the finish. Included in those who ended up in a crumpled heap on the side of the road were Carlos Saiz, Marcus Gronholm, and Collin McRae! Enjoy!
