Rally America- Olympus Preview

blockThe Rally America series will be running next weekend in the Olympus Rally out in the great state of Washington. It is scheduled to be a three day event and the competition is sure to be tough. This will be the third round of the championship and if this round is anything like the 100 Acre Rally that I attended earlier this year, then the Washington fans are in for a real treat. The site of the Olympus Rally was once frequented by the WRC and is always a fan favorite on the tour. The rally starts in Aberdeen and could see a mixture of the elements as the spring weather in and around the area is hard to predict.

Championship leaders Tanner Foust and Andrew Comrie-Picard (ACP) will be looking to break away from one another as they are currently tied for the title lead. However, the Subaru North America team of Ken Block and Travis Pastrana are a threat to win every time. Ken Block is coming off of an impressive 50+ second victory at the 100 Acre Wood Rally and Travis Pastrana will look to put the 08 STI on the top step. Foust will continue to run the very impressive Rockstar Energy Drink Evo 10 which has already tasted victory north of the border.

If you are a rally fan and in the area of Aberdeen, I highly recommend the Olympus Rally for your weekend to do. The Rally America series gives unprecedented access to the fans at no cost. The competition is awesome and the fans have a genuine chance to get down and rub shoulders with the drivers while looking at their amazing machines. I was privileged enough to be standing next to the car of Ken Block as they gave a detailed overview of the 08 Impreza and that is something you just can’t do in other American racing series.

Keep an eye on our twitter next weekend as well as our site for daily results from Washington. We will also try and get some pictures of the event and cars posted on the page for that following Monday.
